Gender Pay Gap Reporting

Gratte Brothers operates in the Construction Industry and has a workforce which is 86.18% male and 13.82% female. This is broadly in line with the Construction Industry as a whole, where 87.6% of roles are occupied by men and 12.4% by women.

This gender imbalance clearly presents the company with significant challenges.

Over 66% of the jobs within Gratte Brothers are engineering roles and while women are represented at every senior level within the company, their representation in these well paid engineering roles is completely inadequate for a modern workforce.

We are committed to recruiting more women into the business and mindful of the significant under representation of females studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects we have put in place a schools programme which is designed to encourage the uptake of these subjects among girls. Our targeted graduate recruitment programme and work with Universities is aimed at recruiting more women into the industry in general and into Gratte Brothers in particular. These initiatives are designed to increase the number of female applicants for both skilled trade and graduate engineering roles within the company.
