Distributor of the Year – Project Management | 2017
In November 2017, Gratte Brothers | Foodservice Solutions was awarded the ‘Distributor of The Year – Project Management’ title by Catering Insight Magazine. This prestigious award highlighted our ability to efficiently deliver high-profile projects while maintaining quality and budget control.
Key achievements that contributed to this win included:
- Successfully completing nine Whitbread projects within five weeks and on budget.
- Overcoming challenges at The Ritz by completing a £155,000 project on time despite unforeseen structural issues.
- Implementing 3D modelling software to improve clash detection in project planning.
- Rolling out an online service and maintenance system, enabling a paperless workflow for engineers.
Digital Initiative of the Year Winner | 2019
Gratte Brothers’ dedication to technological innovation earned us the ‘Digital Initiative of the Year’ award at the 2019 Catering Insight Awards. This recognition was based on our efforts to enhance operational efficiency through digital transformation.
Key initiatives included:
- Investment in new telephone systems for digital calls and video conferencing.
- Providing tablets, laptops, and smartphones to remote-working teams.
- Equipping engineers’ vans with digital stock tracking for improved service efficiency.
- Deploying Call2Field service management software for our 36-strong engineer team.

Shortlisted for Distributor of the Year – South of the UK | 2019
In the same year, we were also shortlisted for the ‘Distributor of the Year – South of the UK’ award. This category celebrated exceptional distributors who excelled in designing and installing state-of-the-art commercial kitchens in one of the most competitive markets.
Industry colleagues praised our unparalleled stock availability, exceptional customer service, and investment in advanced technology to enhance product monitoring and lifespan prediction.
Distributor of the Year – South of the UK Winner | 2020
We took home the prestigious ‘Distributor of the Year – South of the UK’ award at the 2020 Kitchen & Equipment Awards. The award recognises all of the team’s hard work this year, which has allowed the business to remain operational despite the various restrictions and importantly continue to exceed customer expectations.
An example given upon nomination of this award was during the early days of the pandemic when one of our Engineers attended a client site within 2 hours of them reporting a broken walk-in freezer. The site was supporting their local council by producing over 1,000 meals a day for local vulnerable people. Gratte Brothers identified the problem, and the part required, which was only available in Cannock and immediately drove there and back to collect and install it.
Nominated for Project Management Excellence | 2021
In 2021, we were nominated for the Catering Insight ‘Distributor of the Year – Project Management’ award. This category honoured companies delivering outstanding commercial catering projects despite industry-wide challenges.
Our nomination was based on delivering several high-value projects, including:
- The Royal Borough of Greenwich’s £31m Woolwich Works project, transforming five Grade II listed buildings into a cultural hub.
- The C3 Church kitchen rebuild in Cambridge.
- The full kitchen suite design and installation at BigShots Golf’s flagship London location.
