Last week saw members of the Gratte Brothers head office team head out to the local area (King’s Cross) on a company litter pick; armed with litter pickers, bin bags and high-vis vests in aid of Recycle Week! In celebration of this week, we launched a myth-busting campaign to highlight the common misconceptions around recycling. To support the digital activity, we planned (in conjunction with Islington Council), an opportunity for staff to get involved, too!
Recently, we learnt that 84% of our staff were interested in volunteering schemes. So, we integrated a voluntary litter-pick into our Recycle Week programme to provide the first opportunity. We delivered a combined 14 hours of service, collecting 11 bin bags of litter found on the streets of our local community. As a family-owned company, we pride ourselves on caring about our people and the communities we work in. This opportunity not only benefitted the environment, but offered the chance for team-building, screen breaks, fresh air and exercise, too.
We’d like to say a big thank you to our volunteers (not all of whom were photographed) for taking part in the company litter pick, and to our Group Environmental Advisor, Alice Kilner, for organising!
