Earlier this year, staff from Gratte Brothers Security Management’s Belfast Office participated in a Van Volunteering Day at FareShare, Northern Ireland.
FareShare is the UK’s largest charity helping vulnerable groups in food poverty fight hunger and food waste by redistributing surplus items to charities that turn the food into meals.
Staff spent a full day sorting food, picking orders and accompanied FareShare drivers delivering food to charities in various locations. They found the day a most rewarding, humbling and insightful experience and as FareShare say themselves, it’s great to see so much surplus food going back out into the community.
