Our traditional Long Service & Retirement Awards have had a bit of a makeover: this year, we are excited to announce the launch of the Excellence Awards! As part of our commitment to recognising exceptional talent and dedication within our company, this year’s awards are bigger and better than ever.
In addition to celebrating long-standing service, retirements and GBL’s apprentice of the year like usual, we are introducing four new award categories to acknowledge the exceptional contributions made by our employees across the business. These new categories include Rising Star, Unsung Hero, Apprentice of the Year (Group wide), and Outstanding Contribution. The expansion ensures that more of our colleagues’ achievements can be highlighted and rewarded. As always, we will continue to honour those reaching important career milestones with us, including 25 and 40 years of service, and those who have retired over the last year.
Another exciting feature of this year’s Excellence Awards is that nominations are open to all employees! We pride ourselves on our people, so opening the awards up for nominations within teams further promotes our culture of supporting one another.
The Excellence Awards is taking place on Thursday, October 10th (today) at our Head Office in King’s Cross. All employees are invited to join the event, which will feature presentations and celebrations in recognition of our colleagues’ achievements.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the event happen, including Leeming Pilkington, everyone who took the time to nominate a candidate, and especially our Facilities team whose hard work and dedication ensure that these events run like clockwork year after year. From setting up the venue to ensuring everything in in place for the awards presentations, their efforts are key to the success of these events.
It’s a real privilege to celebrate so much talent, and so many incredible years of service across the Group. Finally, thank you to everyone for attending, we’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
