Broadgate Estates is a leading nationwide property management company representing the interests of premium developers across some of the UK’s most prestigious spaces.
4 Kingdom Street is set amid the Paddington Central development, an innovative 11-acre site set between the competing commuter traffic of Paddington Station and the A40. Gratte Brothers was appointed to undertake elements of the site’s security system.
Over a 12-month programme, Gratte Brothers installed a Gallagher access control system with lift integration and Comelit intercom across the 10-floor building which includes a reception, conference areas and a rooftop basketball court. This system was configured to work with the client’s existing network and could be managed via the front desk.
Innovative solutions and detailed logistical planning were required to manoeuvre large equipment through the narrow site and into position within high internal spaces. Additionally, the ground floor level was stepped. To mitigate this, Gratte Brothers fabricated ramps on site to allow equipment to be moved safely.
To meet the high standards required, Gratte Brothers produced bespoke intercom panels to house the Gallagher readers. These were installed at the entrance and rear of the building to integrate with the bi-fold vehicle entrance gates.
