Scope of Work

Such a contemporary offering demands a ‘gastronomic hub that indulges the senses’ and therefore equally high-class catering facilities to support the endeavour. Gratte Brothers Foodservice Solutions was delighted to be appointed to supply and install commercial catering equipment over five levels of this new destination. The facilities include JOIA, the main restaurant from Michelin star Portuguese chef, Henrique Sa’ Pessoa, which celebrates the best of Portuguese and Iberian cuisine whilst showcasing panoramic views, JOIA Rooftop, a 16th floor rooftop bar offering 360 degree views across the famous Battersea Power Station, JOIA bar, a function room and pantry facility and a breakfast room on the upper ground floor. A unique addition for Gratte Brothers was the provision of the laundry facilities.

Final Components

Being in such a central location meant logistics needed to be planned meticulously. All deliveries and inductions were booked in advance and arranged on a ‘just in time’ basis. The main challenge was the transportation of a one-piece specialist cooking suite which arrived incorrectly from the factory in Italy in three large sections rather than in modular sections as planned. The units were therefore stripped down and reassembled once in situ to ensure no delays were caused or changes required to the specification.

This project was commended by judges at the ceda Grand Prix Awards 2023 in the Project Management Excellence category.
