Gratte Brothers was delighted to deliver security systems to protect Lucent W1, an exciting new development in the heart of London’s West End. This development stands at 144,000 sq. ft and is tucked directly behind the iconic Piccadilly Lights—where the vibrancy of Soho, Mayfair and St James converge.

Our Delivery

Situated in a postcode with such a high concentration of retail, food, and fashion destinations as well as cultural attractions, buildings in this area are some of the most vulnerable when it comes to crime.

Gratte Brothers was delighted to supply, install, and commission the security systems needed to maintain the security of the development, as well as the Piccadilly Lights as part of the shell and core scheme for Landsec. Our installation included CCTV and intercom systems as well as access control, inclusive of bronze-clad speed lanes in the reception area to compliment the architect’s design, with full lift integration.

Environmental Focus

Lucent, which offers not only 110,000 sq. ft. of office space but also 30,000 sq. ft. of retail space and seven private apartments is uniquely designed with the natural world at its core.

Influenced by research that indicates productivity, mental health, and creativity are aided by being close to nature, Lucent features outdoor spaces on every level, a 3-storey high green wall and is filled with over 200 varieties of plants to boost the biodiversity of the local area.

Unsurprisingly, the building is therefore targeting a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating as well as a ‘Gold’ WELL Building Standard and a NABERS 4.5 rating.
