Landsec is the largest Real Estate investment Trust in the UK with a broad portfolio of mixed developments in the capital, such as the thriving One New Change in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral. Spread across three storeys and 560,000 sq ft, the development offers a selection of bars, shops and restaurants.
Gratte Brothers was selected to supply and install the security system for the centre over a 16-month programme. This included a Pelco CCTV system, C-Cure access control, speed lanes, and a sophisticated visitor management system with a web portal allowing tenants to easily check-in their visitors.
The scale of the project required a close relationship with the network provider to ensure the pre-configuration of over 200 IP cameras and 180 access-controlled doors. To provide close monitoring of such an expansive site, Gratte Brothers designed the control room with a full wall of CCTV monitors.
The project scale also required a collaboration with key partners to ensure the programme was not impacted. The siting of external equipment had to be agreed with the client’s architect prior to fitting, and the central location meant all deliveries had to be logged online with the site logistics operator.
