Engineering Challenges & Flexibility
The 2-phase project was completed within a tight 6-week programme and involved overcoming various engineering challenges, including the removal of old cast iron sectional boilers, 3000 litre galvanised calorifiers and a 24” galvanised flue header.
Key to the success of this project was our team’s flexibility and commitment to the client’s requirements. Constant availability of hot water is key to their guest experience, so we carefully phased the work to ensure the required occupancy levels could be maintained without interruption.
A Dual-Phased Approach
Phase 1 focused on the 5th floor plant room upgrade, installing new Lochinvar gas fired water heaters, buffer vessels, hot and low temperature water pipework and a new gas installation in just one week.
The phase 2 basement plant room was completed one week ahead of schedule, successfully removing old equipment and installing 4 Hamworthy condensing boilers, packaged plate heat exchangers and a stainless steel flue header and liner.
