As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 (8th March), Gratte Brothers are proud to announce our latest partnership with Women into Construction.
We’ll be recruiting for a total of 15 female trainee positions including electrical, mechanical and project engineers, as well as document controller roles. These positions will run as 2-week work experience placements starting from April 2022. The trainees will shadow our own experienced team of engineers while on site, gaining valuable and specific industry experience. Women into Construction will help to recruit and train candidates for their placement. Partnerships like these are vital as shown in data from Women into Construction’s latest report which found that;
“100% of women who secured employment stated they would not have been able to secure a job in the construction industry without Women into Construction.”
On successful completion of their placements, the trainee engineers will be offered the opportunity to gain formal apprenticeships with Gratte Brothers. We hope that the experience will provide practical and useful experience on their engineering career journeys.
Women into Construction is an independent not-for-profit organisation that promotes gender equality in construction. Bespoke support is provided to women wishing to work in the construction industry, and the organisation also assists contractors to recruit highly motivated, trained women, helping to reduce skills gaps and create a more gender-equal work force.
Gratte Brothers staff will be at the College of North East London (CONEL) tomorrow (9th March 2022) to chat to female students considering their next steps out of college.
